Wheatear

A selection of shots from Sunday of a pair of Wheatear, first I got the female, and as I moved nearer that bird disappeared and to my delight the male appeared on the topof the soil heap.

GRRRRRRRRRR !!! Mike, I'm jealous now. I've been trying to get them here but they are moving so fast!! And for us, they are most of the time around the beaches in the rocks and high plants, so very hard to get. I counted 16 yesterday on a beach, but never managed to get one!!! Well done, some of them are gorgeous!!!
But a small question to tease you, did you lose the sun??? ;-)

Hi Chris, I have never had sucess with this bird before, never seen many.
This year we have in the last few weeks seen Wheatear on the North York Moors, two weeks ago in fields near home and then these birds on Teeside. Sun what's that!
Thanks Paul, hope you get lucky soon, my dejection is with Dotterel and Ring Ouzels which we have never seen yet!
