Dark Green Fritillary
A new butterfly for us this year was the Dark Green Fritillary which we saw on the sand dunes at Ross, just north of Bamburgh, Northumberland, a lovely butterfly. My pictures do not show the dark green and silvery spots that are on the hind wing.
Thanks Michael, Roy & Lyn. Certainly a lovely butterfly. Hope you get lucky next year Michael. This one made up for a couple of species that I hoped to see this year (Brimstone, Green Hairstreak)but god willing hopefully next year.
Hi Mike, I have seen loads of Brimstones very recently, males are easier to see than the females. I would think as you have found the Dark Green Fritillary then there is every chance you would find the Brimstones. The Green Hairstreak I would love to find.

Very nice. I've never seen one, but there are a couple of locations in North Yorkshire where I hope to locate one next year.
