Spot on black background!

I spent a week in the Scottish Borders last week, a very nice varied area on the east coast. The area around St Abbs Head is lovely, great views, landscape, geology and plenty of sea birds of course. After a great walk where four Ravens were seen gorging a rabbit the barn next to the car park at the end of the walk gave me views of this Spotted Flycatcher.

It was flying into the barn catching insects and resting briefly on the gate or rails. The darkness of the barn gives a nice black back ground I believe.

Gorgeous Mike... The background is perfect and the picture too ;-) Wonderful. I've moved my blog to my website, hence the new address.

Beautiful pics of a beautiful bird. We also get Spotted Flycatchers in South Africa. I wonder if ours get to you when they migrate.
