Not one, two _ _ _ but six!

Over the Dorset Radipole RSPB reserve we were watching, counting five Buzzards overhead. I love the pewing sound they make, we stood counting. Now I have seen three, maybe four aloft at one time but five and then there was six!

Great sight, I managed a number of shots and this seems the best.

Canon 40D with Sigma 50-500mm lens. f6.3, ISO 250, 1/800th sec, 500mm focal length.

You are in Dorset! I hope you are having a great time. So that is where all our buzzards have gone, to Weymouth:)

That`s a great shot Mike! Buzzards certainly are getting a lot more widespread these days.

We love Dorset Linda. Had to come back North today so hopefully you have your Buzzards back!

Travelling back North today we saw maybe 20+ Buzzards. Plus three good views of Red Kites. Going South we had 7 Red Kites. Also Kestrel (of course) and Sparrow Hawk today.

Thanks Jeremy, a lovely bright day certainly helped.

I have to say Roy, yesterday was one of my better attempts at high flying Buzzards!

Fantastic capture Mike, one problem with Digiscoping, flight shots are really hard to nail.

Thanks John, yes digiscoping a flight shot would be a challenge!

Hi Angad, I managed about 12 shots of this paticular Buzzard but the published one is marginally the best.

Hi Mike,

Nice shots. We'll be visiting Filey area in June and spending time at Bempton Cliffs and other places too. Lots of birding photos on our site at www.phaetonplace.ca. Any advice on birding places to visit while in NY would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Mark & Chris
