Distant Pintail at Mereshead
Little Grebe at North Cave
A few shots from the last two weeks. The Robin sat steady and near to us in the hedgerow on the footpath at Mereshead. The Fieldfare and Redwings kept moving on and too far off.
On Friday last we visited Robert Fullers excellent current exhibition. As we left Fieldfare were below the car on the berry bushes but the road was too narrow to stop.
The Pintail shot is one of a few distant shots I manged at Mereshead.
After Robert's exhibition we went to North Cave YWT where of the few shots I managed a few were of the Little Grebe.

Arghhh!!! I'm damned jealous!!! First the robin shots are wonderful, but seeing the little grebe, I was just happy for you and so envious to see one, one day... I've never seen it but it is so beautiful, and your shots are fantastic... Gorgeous post Mike!
Thanks Roy. I have only seen the odd solitary Ointail before, it was nice to see better nos. but they were always distant.
You are very kind Chris. I was surprised with the Little Grebe shots, I thought they might be too darkly exposed. Hope you have great sucess with this bird soon.
