Filey Dabs
A selection of pictures taken of Little Grebe (Dab Chicks) at Filey Dams YWT pictured in lovely bright conditions.
There was no one else present on the reserve and I found that when quietly lifting the hide hatches that a few birds were close to.
At the second hide (is it main pool?) a Dab Chick was really close to enabling me to get good shots.
A number of Wrens are in the woods at the entrance to the site and I managed one or two pictures although I can never get focused quickly enough when the bird is nearest to me!

Very nice portrait of a Wren.
Worth knowing the hides at Filey just in case you're rushing for a goodie (or putting details of one into the log) - the main pool hide is near to the car park, the east pool hide is furthest.
Great sharp pics of the Little Grebe and the Wren, will have to take a look at the dams soon, especially when the dabs are in full summer plumages - good job Mike.
Lovely sharp shots Mike, I've hardly managed to see a Wren out in the open yet alone snap one yet.
Paul.
Thanks for your comments.
Dave, thanks for clarifying re hides.
