White Crowned Sparrow

My first (and only) picture of the mega rare White Crowned Sparrow at Cley-next- the- Sea, Norfolk.

The bird was not present on Sunday during our short visit to the site. On Wednesday however it was in the bush opposite the public footpath when we arrived and dropped down to the ground on a branch whilst I managed three pictures, this being the only one that is sharp.

The Sparrow then disappeared and we did not see it again whilst waiting 45 minutes for it to re-appear.

Nice shot Mike, of a bird I've never seen. Can't really beat Norfolk late winter/early spring.

Whilst regularly visiting Norfolk in the last few years it has been in the summer months.
March was excellent, I was impressed with the numbers of Geese at Holkham Pines NNR even though some had probably started to leave.
I want to visit Snettisham in the winter to see the nos. of waders gathered.
